But also, oh... the kiss was unexpected, but the smile on his face becomes something warmer, and he has to sit up a little straighter out of his slouch to kiss her back on the cheek because that's all he can reach. ]

[ naminé smiles back. she has no idea how to really address any of this, or how to make minato feel better, but... at the very least she can show him affection, and that she cares. if she can't do anything else, there's that.

[ It's more than anything anybody else has shown him, accepting the futility of his situation with him and making the best of it, instead of caring and scolding him in the same breath like he'd come to expect from most anybody else.

This is why Naminé is his best friend in this place, and why he takes her hand again to have her sit next to him, so he has somebody to lean on both literally and figuratively. ]

I did some not that great things back home, so I was doing my best to make up for them before I came here.

I don't know much about making up for things, but... you're doing some great things here. So I hope you know that.

That sort of fear is pretty normal... But I'm glad Axel was there to help you. If you haven't thanked him yet, it'd probably make him happy. ...He'd probably be embarrassed.

My favorite... oh! I got to go to the beach.

[ this is such a simple thing but she sounds so happy about it. ]

[ It's such a simple thing, but it's something that warms Minato's heart, because he loves the beach too. That's why he smelled like salt that one trial and Dana kept going ??????? at me for it. ]

I love the beach. That sort of place reminds me of home, so I'm glad there was one here.

Yeah. I've never been, but I've seen it before, so... it was kind of like a dream come true.
