... it depends, I suppose. Father will go to the capitol on occasion. That's where I was, recently. I'm decently acquainted with the King, after a few.... circumstances.
[but she'll let her gaze fall down to the koto]
I wasn't allowed to leave the castle in Suiko - the Water Tribe's capitol - for most of my life. It didn't stop me, but I only got to see the other tribes at the fighting tournament every year.
[ ... it's a little difficult to picture someone like lili being stuck in one place like that, given her personality. granted, she has mentioned that she's bad with people, which... makes more sense with this in mind.
It's not that I don't want to - I just... don't understand. [she'S BAD WITH PEOPLE] And it feels uneven, since I don't know that much about you or your home...?
She hides information - including everyone's attempts to combat the darkness weeks ago. But if you really want to know, what pissed me off was the fact that she said that she didn't care about helping during trials anymore if it meant that Minato might not be saved that week Kazuaki died. I can't imagine being friends with anyone who would sacrifice everyone else for one person like that.
... I think that other people are probably upset with her, since she made it seem like it was more than just you even if you were the only person she named.
[ probably because naminé was involved in the incident that akane assumed was the reasoning. ]
[and lili frowns at that - because it's not like she gets that offer often.]
I said yes - because I thought that I could believe in her. She didn't seem that bad.
But I don't really care to be used and tossed to the side - if she only cares about one person, then what's the point in trying to earn favor with others? It's dishonest and manipulative.
After that one trial, North came to me after and said that I probably shouldn't tell Akane any more sensitive information. And that it was okay if I stayed as her friend, but she shouldn't be the type I kept close.
I'll be careful. It's just... if all her friends are actually mad at her, it just seems a little sad to leave her all alone. Especially since Minato is so...
... You shouldn't try to save other people at the expense of yourself, you know?
Unless she learns from what she's done, it just means that you could get hurt. I'm... figuring out how to forgive people [axel] but she doesn't even seem apologetic.
Some people are just going to be awful - and it might take a big mistake for them to realize that they need to change.
I know I do. [sorry naminé, talking to lili was always doomed to be something of a lost cause.] If she really wanted to be my friend again, she would talk to me directly instead of sending you.
[if anything, that makes lili more irritated - naminé should just be a pawn in someone else's plans]
... but if you want to believe in her, I hope she doesn't take it for granted.
[she pauses, thinking about how naminé said that lili technically knows more about her....]
... I've made decisions in the past that put people close to me in harm's way. They nearly died because of me. Making rash decisions and mistakes... I can't fault someone for that. I've done it too.
But people aren't toys or dolls to be cast away... People's lives are important, and they shouldn't be hurt just for existing, just because you might like someone else better.

- why?
no subject
at the question though, naminé blinks. ]
Why what?
no subject
lili is bad with people.]
Why are you asking about me? What does it matter to you?
no subject
[ she glances away. ]
Sorry, it wasn't any of my business.
no subject
Don't get so shy all of a sudden. It's not like I was offended...
I just don't get why you want to know.
no subject
[ that is what everyone else here has been doing... ]
no subject
[she frowns]
Did you want something from me...?
[why else would someone want to get to know her...]
no subject
[ she got distracted
but then sighs. ]
We can drop it though, if you don't want to tell me anything. I don't mind.
no subject
It's not that I don't want to - I just... don't understand. [she'S BAD WITH PEOPLE] And it feels uneven, since I don't know that much about you or your home...?
[but she shakes her head]
If you want to ask your question, go ahead.
no subject
[ she did tell lili about the whole memory thing two weeks ago.
but she said she won't press any more, so. ]
... I wanted to ask about Akane, actually.
no subject
[naminé has a point. lili pauses at that - but then she's so surprised by the next question
but her expression obviously falls]
Do you have to?
[she's so mean]
no subject
[ and her relationship with akane is uhhhh
complicated
but naminé did say she'd ask lili about it. ]
no subject
[she rolls her eyes, because now she has two of them]
I'm not talking to her more than I have to.
no subject
[ so from naminé's point of view, she doesn't see why someone would be mad at akane?
like, ignoring the fact that akane still said something and more or less forced naminé to out herself, but that was fair and valid. ]
no subject
even more annoyed]
Is she an idiot?
[she frowns]

If you want to be her friend, then I'm not going to tell you to stop but.... North is pretty smart. I would agree with her.
You're a nice person.
I don't want you to have to deal with being backstabbed like that, if she really does choose to forsake all of us for Minato.

[ she's seen it happen enough times. ]
Although I'm not saying you should try to be her friend or forgive her. I think you have every right to be angry.

I can't accept someone like that.

No... I think that's a good way to live.
You're a rather good person, Lili. I think that we need people like you in a place like this.
no subject
she startles at that, looking confused and flustered immediately - ]
I'm - what? Why do people keep saying that...
