[ Last week, Lune had told him that the best thing to do to prepare was to rest. He hadn't understood it, then, but he sort of does now. All he wants to do is sleep, forget about that he'd seen, go back to mindlessly pulling levers and trying to block out the ringing in his ears every time he makes a match.
He'd caught up a little more on sleep, but he's still tired. Not very hungry, but with no appetite, but his stomach growls and whines anyways, and he decides he should at least eat a vegetable this week. Maybe there's a carrot in the fridge or something. It's with that in mind he heads to the kitchen, repeating "carrot, carrot, carrot" under his breath as if that would make one magically materialize in the fridge. ]
[ and he'll walk in on naminé pulling cookies out of the oven. there are... a lot of cookies, actually. several trays full scattered on the counters, and the cookies on them are various levels of success. some are burnt, others undercooked, but others look like they're actually good.
she immediately turns when she hears someone enter, and she relaxes once she sees who it is. ]
[ There goes any chance of Minato eating a healthy meal. He gives Naminé a faint smile as he enters, though he can't help but remember that the last time he'd had a cookie, it had been shared by Junna and Nana. ]
Keeping busy, huh?
[ Keeps the mind off things. A good strategy. He sits down on the counter, and snaps in half some of the cookies that are burnt. ]
Learning is a process. You'll get there. Besides, looks aren't as important as taste, when it comes to food.
[ He says this, eating a burnt cookie, but honestly his sense of taste is a bit skewed anyways. The fact that Naminé can even bake cookies is heartening; baking is much harder than making soup, after all. ]
[ She has all the time in the world to bake, at least. God knows there's plenty reason to keep their minds off things, in this place. ]
Was going to send something to Tsurumaru, but we decided on a different method, in the end. Other than that, a letter and gift to Sol. They received it, and we talked a little.
[ If only sending a letter meant they could talk with the departed, though. ]
It's a good way to spend time, even when things are not. I wish it weren't.
[ He wishes he could just eat cookies and play slots and lie on the ground all day all the time, but instead he's crunching burnt cookies and wishing tomorrow wouldn't come. ]
Do you and Emma spend a lot of time together? As roommates?
[ Kazuaki's been a good roommate too; Minato's sort of the opposite, wandering around all day and not coming home at night, but he tries. At least he's better than Hisoka. ]
Lots of people here... are very kind. So getting to know them, and then having something like this happen... it's unimaginable, huh?
[ hmm, yes, okay, he understands the train of thought, now. It was just him that got derailed. ]
That's what it sounds like... But we have three people this time. And whoever the person who got corrupted is, if the purification process is the same...
So, there's four people who will be partnerless, if we count the roommate of whoever gets voted for. They can bond at least two of those people, like they did with Hisoka and Axel. But that's still two who won't make it.
Mm... there's always the possibility that the person who's corrupted happens to be partnered with someone who died. We can't say they wouldn't target whoever they're bonded with if they're not in control of their own body.
[ which means that there would only be one person leftover instead of two. ]
It's too difficult to tell without a motive. And I can't imagine anybody not getting along with any of those three- or Tsurumaru, either. Mary had wanted to be friends with everybody, after all.
week 1, friday

[ admittedly, the reason she's doing this is because of nana and junna. she won't say that though. ]
It helps a little.

...Were they teaching you?
[ He doesn't specify who, nibbling at the charred edges of his cookie. ]

They would have probably looked nicer.

Are you going to send some to them?

[ if she can find any. naminé picks one up and bites into it. it's a little gooey but... that does not taste too bad. ]
Have you sent anything?

I think so to. I asked if they wanted to share a meal together someday... Do you want to join us? We could cook and eat together. It'd be nice.

[ especially when everything else... isn't.
she moves to turn the oven off. apparently she got all the cookies out. ]

Three dead... Number four gets voted on... Four partnerless... but potentially two could be saved.
[ a frown ]
