[ she'll move forward so she can help with that?? and she will try to... do it in a way that won't hurt too much for him. ]

[ That's sort of impossible, because everywhere hurts. Naminé can probably feel the extra cushioning of the bandages through his clothes, completely covering his back and arms. But he gets up with no complaints, and makes his way over to the door and leaves it open on his way out.

He's just sort of expecting Naminé to follow. She doesn't have to close the door behind her. ]

[ she screams internally but does, in fact, follow

she closes the distance fast enough just in case she needs to catch him in case he like, falls over and dies ]

[ He's not going to fall over and die!!! But he does walk slower, since, ow. ]

...Is the garden okay? Just around the pond?

[ she has no idea what they're doing

so the garden is fine. ]

[ That's a good way to operate, just nod and accept things. But with the garden in agreement, Minato leads the way over there, to the familiar garden paths that always makes him feel at home despite the business of a city he's from, because here, it's quiet. Gardens have that effect.

He doesn't say anything the entire time, just takes his 3579049328 laps around the pond or until whenever Naminé feels like she has to speak up again. ]

Walking? I guess... I used to do it more, back home. Just going around the city. Sometimes somebody would walk me home, and that's always nice.

Oh... well, I'll walk you home today.

[ just in case he thought she was just going to ditch him mid-lap ]

[ Naminé missed her chance to just walk away, she's a good friend ]

...I really am okay, so I hope you don't worry about me. There were medics there, and... I told Four that I would really try hard this week.

[ If Naminé can forget about setting off rockets for a second- he did sort of try hard? there were so many opportunities to die and he managed not to die. ]

[ if he says he's alright, then she won't doubt him.

He takes her hand without hesitation, lacing their fingers together and letting their hands hang by their sides.

He said he would try, this week. ]

Naminé... are you happy?

[ listen as long as he heals properly, it's fine. val and axel were also injured so it's not just minato for once.

but she smiles at their hands, although the question catches her off guard. ]

Right now?

[ So as long as he takes somebody down with him, it's fine??? ]

I guess... both right now, and in general.

but she has to think about it. ]

I'm... happy right now, because I like being with you, although if it's upsetting that you got hurt.

...I'm happy right now too, because I also like being with you.

[ But also, yeah, Naminé's probably upset all the time, because he gets hurt all the time. I don't think we've had a thread where Naminé doesn't look sadly over at him, or Minato doesn't look sad in return. ]

I wish I could make you happy all the time, but I don't know if that's possible. No matter how hard I'm trying.

I think that you try enough. [ ... ] It's already more than most people that I know have done for me. I was even happy when you said 'thanks, Naminé' earlier.

[ she lifts up their hands ]

[ He huffs a laugh, for a multitude of reasons, disbelieving and fond all in the same breath. It's always so hard for him to try at all, that he wonders if he's even doing anything, but here is Naminé thanking him for saying thank you, for always causing her worries and troubles and she says it's more than most people have done for her.

He dips his head to press a kiss to her hand, and keeps it there. ]

You're always doing stuff for me, so I should be thanking you all the time. For hanging out with me, and worrying about me... for just being there... Thank you, Naminé.

... we're friends. So that's what we do, right? Worry about each other, and laugh together, and do... possibly dumb things too...

[ they're definitely dumb but she goes along with it anyway.

naminé reaches out with her other hand to brush it through his hair. ]

I like being friends with you.

Yeah, we're friends.

[ Even if he worries her too much, and he doesn't laugh as much as he should, and they do incredibly dumb things together and never bring it up again after. ]

It's always been very fun with you, ever since I met you. Even with everything that's been going on... you're one of the reasons why I like this place so much. Why I want to try... I love you a lot, so... I don't want to lose that.

[whitewalls]

You won't. I love you too, Minato, and... I won't ever walk away from this. No matter what happens.

[ she squeezes his hand. ]

... before I came here, I didn't get to talk to people a lot. I didn't really have friends, so...

[ Sometimes I laugh at the fact that Naminé is friends with Minato because she honestly just doesn't know any better, somebody help her ]

Me neither... [ For, like, all those things. Never really talking with anybody, not having friends. Unlike with Naminé, it was by choice, and it's a choice he'd hung onto for so long here too. ]

I think I'm a little happier here, than I was before. It feels kind of like a second chance.
